Cassette tapes, fanzines and the DIY aspect of music scenes was always a strong interest in his teens. This was accompanied by outbursts of skateboarding and bedroom bands aspiring to the punk and hardcore bands of the late 80s.
He began to buy more vinyl and decided to start DJing from his growing interest in electronic styles. Encouragement from friends gave him the drive to quickly gain his mixing skills and form his own style.
A vinyl purist, Thomas James’ sets weave between deep house and techno; old and new with touches of acid, dub, hip-hop and disco.
This is expressed with custom perception and the attitude of youth.
